Reservation: how does it work?
Through the internet; you can choose the ship and the period by using our vacation planner, and you will immediately receive our email, if the reservation is accepted. (it’s possible that during the weekend it will take an little longer).We will send you the contract, inventory list and invoice by post or email, and you have to make a down payment of 50% of the rental price within 10 days. The remaining rental amount has to be paid in advance by bank transfer (as we prefer) or with pin or cash by departure.
You can reach us by telephone 7 days a week. We give you all the information regarding the free periods and possibilities.
Different periods
You can make a reservation for all possible periods, for this made of measure reservation please contact us by email or telephone. For weekends we charge 65% of the week price, midweek 55% of the week price, weekend + 1 day 75 %, week and weekend or mid week and week 150%.
Regatta sailing
Most of our ships from our charter fleet are ORC measured and are able to take part in regattas. The following rules will apply for this purpose:
- A competition fee of € 150,00 concerning complementary insurance
- The deposit cannot be sold off
- At least 2 experienced regatta sailors on board
- To take part in the Schuttevaerrace is not possible
- With Ascension Day’s (NRW cup) and the 24-ours race counts: only week reservations, from Monday
until Monday.
Sailing area
The sailing area of our ships is IJsselmeer and Waddenzee. Up to date maps you’ll find on board. With enough experience you can sail around Noord Holland: Markermeer, Noordzeekanaal, Noorzeekust, IJselmeer and Monnickendam. Therefore we can provide a North sea map on board. If you want to go England or the Belgium cost we provide a North sea package, with all necessary maps for this sailing area, joon, extra emergency signals and a Reeds almanac. For this package we ask € 150,00 per rented period.
More to come?
Nothing! Only a cancellation insurance (we advise you to take!) and diesel for the engine. We charge no after cleaning costs; you have to bring the ship back in good condition, cleaned inside and scrubbed outside. If this isn’t the case, we’ll charge you € 75,00 for inside and € 75,00 for outside cleaning. Reservation costs won’t be charged, rescue vests, genaker, autopilot and chartplotter or GPS are always on board.
Sailing license:
In the Netherlands a sailing certificate is needed for ships that goes faster than 20 km per hour or taller than 15 meter. But this isn’t necessary for our ships! But we do ask our sailors to have experience with sailing on the Ijsselmeer. Also to go to the Waddenzee, you need to have several years sailing experience, with perhaps CWO 3 or instruction Coast navigation. It’s always possible to discuss this by phone. To be sure, there also a possibility to start you sailing vacation or one day in the spring with a freshen up instruction.: our instructor and you will go through all the maneuvers and sailing techniques.
Parking
On our marina it’s possible to park your car behind the barrier, in the parking area protected with security camera’s. You will receive a magnet key when you arrive, to drive in- and out the parking area.
Public passener transport services:
Bus 11 en 115 are driving at least 2 x per hour from Amsterdam to Monnickendam. Take stopping –place Swaensborg (after a trip through the outlying region of Monnickendam), from here it’s 7 minute walk to our marina. Walk to the roundabout, go to the left, along the water.
Safety
There automatic life-jackets and life lines on board. Every year the following inspections are taking place: ECB to check the condition of the ship, Tuigerij Visser to check the rig and the firm Paraat to check the fire extinguishers. Every 2 year the gas pipes are checked and replaced.
Sail clothing
It’s possible to rent a Imhoff sailing suit, long john, sailing jacket and boots for € 10,00 per period.
Bedding
We don’t have on board. Pillows and pillow cases we do have on board! You can rent bedding if you want to. A duvet with cover and bed sheet costs € 12.00 per person. It is also possible to rent bathing towels.
Deposit
It depends, from € 350, 00 for the Dehler 25 up to € 1500, 00 for the Dehler 44. We will make a copy of your credit card or you can pay by pin, we will return it on your bank account.
Deposit insurance
it’s possible to take out a policy. The remaining deposit will be € 250, 00; you have to pay € 16, 00 per day. The deposit cannot be sold off with sailing regattas.
What's on board?
Everything you need to sail, to navigate, and to live on board. For all the details you can read the inventory list. On board you always find a dish towel and floor towel, coffee and tea, sucker, salt and pepper. Near the marina you’ll find a supermarket, where you can buy your groceries, and a market on Saturday morning from 8 o’clock in the center of Monnickendam. You can order bread previously at www.broodonline.nl. Bed blankets/sheets and sail clothing you have to bring yourself or you have to rent it extra.
Pets
Pets are, in their own interest - not allowed on board.
On Board
As soon as you arrive you will be checked in. That means that together we will make a round through the ship, to explain how everything functions. First inside the ship, and then the outside. It’s best that the skipper and 2-3 persons of his crew are hearing the instructions. It’s going to take 30-45 minutes of your time. After that you can bring your luggage on board, and you can check the ship on your own way. When something isn’t correct, let us know what’s wrong immediately, so we can solve the problem. Take your time, to let the ship be yours. There’s a boarding book on board with all the instructions as we’ve told you, so you can read it once again. During your holiday you can always contact us for consultation or good advice. In any case of damage, please report this immediately, so we can take all necessary steps. Then the next crew will sail a perfect ship again.
